Fashion's Night Out was indeed a night to remember! From the Copley Square Mall to Newbury Street, Boston was packed with people out to enjoy one of the last warm nights of summer. My girlfriends and I met up after work to join the fun, celebrating the end of a season (summer) by ringing in the start of the season - Fall Fashion 2012. We started at Neiman Marcus in the Copley Mall, sampling specialty popcorn (rosemary garlic truffle oil, anyone?) and lusting after the fall shoe collection. I was particularly floored by the latest from Charlotte Olympia, a relatively new designer who combines her precise attention to detail with an undeniable love of dressing from the feet up. The result? An amazingly polished yet fabulously eclectic collection of sassy flats and sky-high pumps guaranteed to set their wearer apart from the crowd.
Don't you just love the "Over the Moon" theme of these shoes? The color combination of navy, black, and gold make this pump the perfect complement to a simple cocktail dress, while the moon and star accents deliver a definite "wow" factor.
Being a huge fan of kitties, I naturally fell in love with these at first sight. Meow!
After tearing myself from the NM shoe show room, my girlfriends and I headed to Newbury street to mingle amongst the crowd. We stepped into Zara where we sipped champagne and got our photos taken at their polaroid station, before moving on to my absolute favorite boutique store in Boston - Crush! Founded by childhood besties Rebecca Penner and Laura Macris, Crush opened the doors to its flagship store on Charles Street in 2007 with the mission of offering fashion forward women not unlike themselves the luxury of shopping high end brands in a more intimate environment. They have since expanded their operation to include a second store on Newbury Street, which is where I chatted with the lovely Brianne, a marketing and pr manager for the company, about their latest collection and upcoming events.
Crush is unique in that they stock gorgeous clothes, shoes, and accessories from a plethora of designers across a variety of price points - making it the best place to shop for virtually any occasion, on any budget. Favorite high-end brands of the store include Alice & Olivia, Parker, MINKPINK, Amanda Uprichard, and 525 America (my boyfriend bought me this gorgeous coat last year for my birthday). Nevertheless Crush also has amazingly affordable clothes from equally chic brands such as BCBG and BB Dakota. On this particular night I managed to snag myself a gorgeous Olive and Oak sheer lavendar blouse with cream paneling down the back, which I absolutely adore. So really whenever I'm looking for that perfect je ne sais quoi to complete my ensemble and I know everyone will be asking "where did you get that!?" - I go to Crush.
