Pantone has done it again. Every year they present the world with a new and exciting color that will set the tone for the twelve months to come, and every year I wind up lusting after all the gorgeous fashion and beauty products inspired by the "it-hue" of the moment. This year's color is Marsala: an earthy, bold tone that immediately conjures the feeling of sharing food and delicious wine around a table with family or friends.
Perhaps this is why I subconsciously reached for my new pair of Citizen of Humanity jeans earlier this week when Michael and I decided to have a spontaneous mid-week date night. A gift from Santa (thanks Mom!), these maroon coated pants are a hybrid jean-legging combo and oh-so comfortable. Paired with a cream blouse and black heels, they lend a subtly romantic feel to an otherwise neutral ensemble.
The best thing about Marsala is it's ability to play nice with others. For inspiration on how to incorporate the hue into your own wardrobe, I've put together a selection of my favorite wine-colored accessories. Happy shopping!
